This is an incredible project and one that addresses a significant need.

While I haven’t personally experienced co-parenting in my 41 years of marriage, I’ve seen the dynamics firsthand through family members and close friends. Drawing from those insights, I’ve developed a financial literacy curriculum tailored specifically for co-parents, titled The Prosperous Partnership: Empowering Co-Parents Financially.

The curriculum includes topics such as setting financial goals, developing a co-parenting financial plan, managing children’s financial needs, building a post-transition budget, understanding credit, navigating credit reports and scores, addressing financial considerations during transitional periods, and creating a personal financial plan.

My areas of expertise:

  • Financial literacy for co-parents
  • Financial planning for parents and kids
  • Budgeting for the transition
  • Understanding credit reports and credit health

About me:

I earned a doctorate from the University of Illinois and have taught financial literacy since 1994 in a variety of situations and through different platforms, such as face-to-face and online university courses, webinars, workshops, and conference presentations. During that time, I’ve helped thousands of people of all ages and life stages to set goals and create simple financial plans that are sustainable to their lifestyle and spending behaviors.
